New Title

Choosing a blog title is serious business, well maybe not super serious. It does say something about you, though. After contemplating for nearly 6 minutes, we originally named it "Kravtsovs." That seemed safe. It is about us, and we are the Kravtsovs. Maybe it wasn't the most creative title, but it worked.
Well, we have had a rough week and a half. We recently found out that Andre has more document problems, we have had some health issues, and Lindsay is still experiencing some pain with nursing (after over 2 months). When it rains is pours, as they say. (Whoever they are.) Anyway, I, Lindsay, got pretty down about all of it. The gray winters in Ukraine are not the best pick me up, either.
Earlier today, Andre made a comment about something Paul in the Bible said. Paul said, "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 3:13-14) Andre reminded me of God's forgiveness, moving toward the goal and being with Jesus.
Well, I sat down to just be with God and talk to Him about all of this. I don't want to just "get through" it all. I want to thrive. I know that this is possible with God alone. I decided to read Phil 3. As I was reading, I came across a part that made me cry. "But our citizenship is in heaven..." Phil 3:20. This would not necessarily always bring tears to the surface, but for me it did. Andre and I have been married for 2 and a half years. We have had so many problems with documents and trying to mix our two countries. Add in our wonderful son (Nikita) and his unique background and Andre's mom living in Spain, and you have the recipe for a headache. This is why when I read that our citizenship is in heaven, I realized that it's true. We may have a passport that says we belong here or there or documents that say that we can live in this country or that, but it doesn't matter. We will always be loyal to heaven first and foremost.
So, that's why we have changed the name of our blog. We are still the Kravtsovs, and we're pressing on.

With Lindsay and Noah visiting us here in Iowa for a little while and Andriy and Nikita back in Ukraine, you can see that the citizenship issues have had a real impact on the Kravtsovs. I wish the two countries would see the same thing that God sees...this is a family and they belong together, wherever in the world that might be. There will come a time...
