Monday morning we welcomed Nikita and Valya home!!! Nikita went to Belarus with Andre's grandma, Valya. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Nikita would not be bored at home and Valya could show off her great-grandson to her sister. But as I looked through the bus window at the tearing eyes of my little boy, I realized that I was sending him to another country with a 79 year-old-woman. What was I thinking? Well, trusting that God had it all under control, we left the bus station and started almost 2 weeks without our eldest son.
We also kept busy with our new youth group at church!!! We are so excited to be helping to start a new youth group, fun style. The previous youth groups have been more mellow, which is ok, but we wanted to make it more like camp, with fun games, food and a short but interesting talk about relavent topics from the Bible. We've finished our 4th week. Please pray that God would guide us in this.
Well, all went well in Belarus, and Nikita and Valya made it home just fine. Nikita is a few pounds heavier, but that's to be expected when staying with grandma and her sister. Nikita is super excited to be home. And you know, it's interesting to see how much Noah missed him. You can see that every time he sees Nikita now. His eyes light up and he smiles. We hope that this continues and they will be really good friends.
Sidenote: I just love the fact that the proportions of a baby are different than that of an adult. I mean, of all the adults that you know, whose arm, when raised directly up only reaches the top of their head. :)
